September 8th 1966 was the date Star Trek the original series aired. This marks a turning point in nerd culture as a whole. When this show aired nobody knew the many works of art across a variety of mediums it would inspire and the many people who were shaped by it even to this day. So we salute you Gene Roddenberry for creating Star Trek.
